Barack Obama has been criticized throughout his presidency for the frequency and cost of his multiple vacations.

So far, the Obamas and Vice President Joe Biden have, combined, bilked taxpayers for millions in expenses while they each live it up on multiple three-week getaways per year.

Now, the first family’s summer plans will take the administration’s vacation expense total over $72 million in eight years — and it is all being billed to the taxpayers.

These dream vacations are so long and frequent that in March of last year, Investors.com reported that the first family had “traveled more than any other first family, often with Mrs. Obama’s mother and her friends. By the summer of 2014 the Obamas had taken 31 international trips lasting 119 days. At the same point in his presidency, Ronald Reagan had taken 14 such trips over 73 days.”

The current running tab being charged to taxpayers for the luxurious trips of the president and vice president is about to go up again. Just 5 months after his 3-week stay in Hawaiian paradise, Obama has announced he’s planning time off with the family again — this time back to Martha’s Vineyard this summer.

And it’s going to cost taxpayers a fortune.

According to previous reports from Judicial Watch, past “accommodations provided by Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Reservations for the Secret Service detail accompanying the Obama family on their two-week Martha’s Vineyard vacation in August 2014 cost taxpayers a total of $946,435.”

That’s a lot of bar bills and room service for the Secret Service, and the total is made even more outrageous considering the buffoonery the security force has grown notorious for while under Obama’s leadership. Fox News had previously reported that Secret Service agents had a reputation of partying “like rock stars” while in Martha’s Vineyard.

“Local residents say wild parties, fights and late-night carousing involving Secret Service members have become commonplace in recent years at the Vineyard, a favorite getaway for the first family and longtime destination for upper-crust members of the Northeastern political, media and business establishment.”

When talking about Obama’s Christmas vacations, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton commented on these outrageous bills, saying, “It is easy to see why the Secret Service, reeling from its own scandals, covered up these outrageous expense numbers.”

Keep in mind, that’s just the cost of the security detail following the Obama family.

In March 2015, Judicial Watch also released documents revealing that transportation expenses for the Obama family 2014 vacation to Martha’s Vineyard was $400,666.30.

In previous trips, the Obamas stayed at a luxurious, plush estate in Chilmark. “The seven-bedroom, nine-bath, 8,100-square-foot house, sits on a 10-acre lot and is assessed at more than $12 million. It features 17 rooms in total, expansive water views of Vineyard Sound, an infinity pool and hot tub, and a dual tennis-basketball court,” according to MVTimes.com.

This is the eighth summer vacation the Obamas will be making to the Vineyard on the taxpayer dime. For Obama, “that time has mostly been spent golfing with a rotating cast of high-profile characters, including Bill Clinton, NBA stars Steph Curry and Ray Allen, and comedian Larry David,” Boston.com reports.

On second thought — perhaps Obama being away from the White House is the cheapest option taxpayers can hope for.
