Abortion rights have taken a long, bumpy road since Roe v. Wade in 1973 told women that they had a right to choose if a pregnancy could be terminated or not. The number of people who support or oppose abortion has had an equally rough ride, but has stabilized overall in the past few years.
According to Gallup, as of May 2016, 29% of people were in favor of legalized abortion under any circumstance, 50% thought it should be legal only under certain circumstances, and 19% thought it should be illegal in all circumstances.
At the same time, people reported being mostly in favor of Planned Parenthood. 59% saw the organization as mostly or very favorable while only 37% viewed it as mostly or very unfavorable. Clearly, people recognize that Planned Parenthood is providing more than just abortions.
However, Planned Parenthood does perform about 300,000 abortions a year. Recent undercover investigations have brought hundreds of scandals to the doorsteps of clinics when they revealed that some Planned Parenthood centers were selling body parts of aborted fetuses for profit.
Take a moment to let that brew. Planned Parenthood is selling baby parts for personal profit.
While the support of abortions in at least some circumstances is obvious, support plummets as the pregnancy is advances. In 2012, Gallup reported that 27% of people supported abortions in the 2nd 3 months of pregnancy. Despite this, several states still allow abortions to take place after 22 weeks, sometimes known as late-term abortions.
There is no way that 43 years ago, it occurred to parties involved in Roe v. Wade that the abortion discussion might include the question, “What kind of baby am I having?”
The technology now exists to diagnose or predict certain medical conditions. The discussion already exists as to whether abortion should be used and are already being used to kill babies who are found to have major birth defects. It is a major concern and motivating factor for those who want to make abortions illegal after the first couple of months.
Opponents of late term abortions argue that they leave the door open for selective pregnancies. This type of abortion would allow parents to decide the fate of a child based on whether it healthy or not. Proponents believe that women should have that choice.
If an image of Adolf Hitler and his race cleansing techniques come to mind, you are not alone. Hitler was quoted as saying:
“If we consider how greatly he has sinned against the masses in the course of the centuries, how he has squeezed and sucked the blood again and again; if furthermore, we consider how the people gradually learned to hate him for this, and ended up by regarding his existence as nothing but punishment of Heaven for the other peoples, we can understand how hard this shift must be for the Jew.”
It does not take a great imagination to substitute the word cripple or defect for Jew to see we are suddenly in the present day argument.
But what about gender? Gender of the baby is generally able to be determined between 18 and 26 weeks. This is significant because it means that women can find out if they are having a girl or a boy before the “deadline” of decision passes.
The questions may seem brutal, should mothers be allowed or even encouraged, to abort babies who are not female? A self-proclaimed “mainstream feminist” is bringing that question to light.
Polly Dunning introduces herself to readers with this, “I’ve always been a feminist. I’m lucky. My mother, Jane Caro, is a feminist, as is my grandmother, and both always have been. It’s something I’ve never questioned and always felt confident and strident about. Just ask me about it at a dinner party (if you dare…)”
This is her preface to a disturbing article explaining how she came to terms with the fact that she was having a baby boy. For those who have experienced the joy that comes with finding out if you are having a boy or a girl this may seem straight from a horror movie.
It is not a film of fiction; the article and the woman are real and perhaps not as much of a rare thing as we would like to believe. “I had to mourn the life I thought I was supposed to have…” says Dunning.
Dunning approaches her son’s life not as a happy mother but as an unwilling scientist force to conduct a social experiment. She asks, “How do you raise a white, middle-class boy not to think his own experience is the default experience of the world? How do you counter a society that makes things easier for him than for others, and make him see it? See how it is for women, for people of color?”
It becomes clear that her innocent child will be subjected to a life of being told that his experiences are wrong and he must change how he sees the world.
“I will raise a feminist boy. Just like his father and grandfathers before him, but even better. I will point sexism out to him at every turn, and he will never get away with it without being called out. I will show him that girls are just people like him and that products and art targeted at them are no less valuable or enjoyable. He will be immersed in feminism by a family who models it in their everyday life.”
Men are pigs and women should be in charge is quite simply what she intends to teach her child and someone needs to ask why this isn’t abuse. She “accepted” the little boy but vows she will mold him; perhaps he would have been better off if she couldn’t bring herself to have a boy after all.
Dunning reports the agreement she received from one of her friends, “She said that she thinks it is sometimes better for women who wanted girls to be mothers of sons. We love women so much we wanted daughters, and so we will raise sons to love and respect women. By having sons, we do feminism a great service.”
In their feminism, Polly Dunning and her peers make being a woman the problem. They create issues that never existed before and create problems where none should exist. They force feminism down the throats of men, women, and their children.
A man who thinks women are not equal perhaps needs a lesson or two just as a woman who thinks she can’t accomplish the same things as a man needs help with her self-esteem. Nobody needs to be brainwashed and indoctrinated as these women are promising to do to their sons.
Liberals telling women they should abort their unborn child if they do not like the gender goes against everything God intended for us on this country.
Don’t you agree?
