Trump is demanding answers from the FBI in regards to their actions and agenda for investigating the DNC hackers.

The trust between members of the House Intelligence Committee has plummeted. It seems they are no longer able to address the security concerns of the Trump Administration. Many of the involved agencies do not support the president. This includes the FBI.

On Friday, March 24 FBI Directory Comey made an unannounced visit to the White House. Comey is scrambling to do damage control after the botched investigation of the DNC email servers. Devin Nunes has stepped forward with serious concerns about the inner workings of the FBI.

Nunes made a bold move in canceling a public meeting of his committee. The meeting should have taken place on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. The meeting that did take place, behind closed doors, seems to point to the fact that this is not business as usual. The unexpected Comey White House visit on Friday also indicates a crisis.

The FBI would normally be the face of top level security investigation for the United States. At this point it seems this may not be their first priority. They are not willing to fully investigate all aspects of the alleged ties between Russia and the election. On-going mistakes with the DNC email servers point to bigger issues.

Nunes has alluded to the fact that the NSA has a report that will blow open the investigation. There are also questions about what else this report contains since it can not be discussed in front of the entire committee. There are holes in the story of what happened with the DNC server hacking. Could they become clear with the NSA reports?

In recent months we have watched as the allegations of the hacked DNC mail servers come to light. For whatever reason, they were never investigated by the FBI. One would think this would be a matter of national security and a priority for the FBI to get to the truth. You might even expect that the DNC would fully cooperate with the FBI. This has not been the case.

The FBI shared information recently about the on-going investigation of the Trump campaign and Russia. The elephant in the room is the DNC server tie-in. The servers that the DNC refuses to hand over to the FBI could contain evidence if it exists. Both the FBI and the DNC should be pushing for access to these servers to settle the matter once and for all.

Some point to the fact that Nunes may have broken protocol by going to President Trump with his security concerns. The real issue is, why can’t we trust the FBI to investigate?

The investigation of the possible ties between Trump and the alleged Russian hacking of the DNC mail server dates back to July of 2016. This has been established as fact by Comey. The investigation was ordered by the Obama administration and supported by the DNC. What is not clear is why, after all these months, is the FBI is still depending on faulty research of a paid source to unearth the “truth.”

At one point, the CrowdStrike report was said to be proof of Russian hacking. This was later proven to be false. The CrowdStrike report shared no credible evidence. Oddly enough, CrowdStrike was used as a reliable and expert souce. Even members of the democratic party did not buy into this.

As Democrat Adam Schiff would share, it is

“…possible that all of these events and reports are completely unrelated and nothing more than an entirely unhappy coincidence? Yes, it is possible. But it is also possible, maybe more than possible, that they are not coincidental, not disconnected and not unrelated, and that the Russians used the same techniques to corrupt U.S. persons that they have employed in Europe and elsewhere. We simply don’t know, not yet, and we owe it to the country to find out.”

It is clear that the FBI has some internal issues with their own investigation techniques. Even as the DNC allegedly handled the investigation of the mail servers, members of their party are calling the FBI on the carpet for not having answers.

The DNC has made extreme efforts to not cooperate with the FBI. They even went as far as hiring their own team to complete the investigation. This is a big red flag.

The Trump administration is not only cooperating with the investigation but asking for transparency. This is to show the American public that all sides of the issue are finally being explored. Nunes stepping forward and breaking protocol is a sign that the FBI failures will no longer be tolerated. It may have been business as usual in the Obama administration. That is not how things are working now.
