List Of 400 Companies That Refuse To Use GMOs In Their Products
From Amy’s Kitchen to Earth Balance, here is a list of 400 companies that refuse to include genetically modified foods in their products.
Like vaccinations and opinions on President Trump, the topic of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) is incredibly controversial. This is because research is mixed on the subject, with certain institutions declaring tampered-with foods to be 100% safe, while others have concluded the exact opposite.
So far, it’s known that genetically modified (GM) foods may contribute to organ damage, gastrointestinal and immune system disorders, accelerated aging, and infertility. This is why the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) urges doctors to prescribe non-GMO diets for all patients.
According to data compiled by the Institute for Responsible Technology (IRT), which is spearheaded by consumer advocate Jeffrey Smith, genes which are inserted into foods, such as soy and corn, can transfer into the DNA of bacteria living inside organisms; this may explain why the toxic insecticide produced by GM corn was found in the blood of pregnant women and their unborn fetuses.
In addition to GMOs being potentially dangerous to all creatures’ health, it is known that GMO seeds contaminate the gene pool, as their seeds cross pollinate and travel. IRT writes on its website,
“Self-propagating GMO pollution will outlast the effects of global warming and nuclear waste. The potential impact is huge, threatening the health of future generations. GMO contamination has also caused economic losses for organic and non-GMO farmers who often struggle to keep their crops pure.”
Additionally, it is known that ingredients in common herbicides, such as Roundup which is used on ‘Roundup Ready’ crops which are GMO, contains glyphosate, an ingredient linked to numerous health conditions, such as cancer and degenerative diseases in the brain. The toxic compound doesn’t stay on the crops it is sprayed on, it leaches into the soil and flows into waterways, harming wildlife and the environment.
There are numerous reasons why individuals and companies may strive to avoid GMOs at all costs. If you are one such individual, you may enjoy the following list of 400 companies that refuse to include genetically modified organisms in their products.
