Iran Now Building Nuclear Delivery System In Blatant Violation Of Obama Deal

Two years ago, when Obama pushed the Iran nuclear deal onto the world, a soon-to-be presidential candidate made a dire prediction, “You know the Iranians are going to cheat. They’re great negotiators and you know they’re going to cheat.” If people had listened to Donald Trump then, perhaps we wouldn’t be facing this news now.

National Intelligence official Daniel Coats testified before Congress this week, revealing information in his latest report about Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

“Iran is pursuing capabilities to meet its nuclear energy and technology goals and to give it the capability to build missile-deliverable nuclear weapons if it chooses to do so.”

Liberals want to talk about North Korea and Russia. They don’t want to admit that their revered leader handed a terrorist country a billion dollars and a mile-long leash on which to do whatever they wanted.

With this new evidence, it is clear that they continue to ignore the UN resolutions and are actively working on ballistic missile technology. As Coats told Congress, the Islamic Republic Islamic Republic “would choose ballistic missiles as its preferred method of delivering nuclear weapons.”

The U.S. has continued to insist that Iran is over a year away from achieving functional nuclear missiles if they decide they want to build them. That is somehow not much of a reassurance. Especially as Coats maintains, “Iran’s ballistic missiles are inherently capable of delivering WMD, and Tehran already has the largest inventory of ballistic missiles in the Middle East.”

Iran naturally denies that their work is related to the nuclear agreement. Obama may have bought that line but the intelligence community points to Iran’s continuing ambitions of dominance.

Coats testified that Iran “continues to leverage cyber espionage, propaganda, and attacks to support its security priorities, influence events and foreign perceptions, and counter threats—including against U.S. allies in the region.” Iran also persists with the building of a military that has been described by observers as unprecedented.

Given what we know now, it would not be surprising if President Trump decides to levy sanctions against the defiant regime to remind them that Obama is not in charge anymore. Certainly we need to do something as Coats explained that intelligence has confirmed the development of “a range of new military capabilities to monitor and target U.S. and allied military assets in the region, including armed UAVs [drones], ballistic missiles, advanced naval mines, unmanned explosive boats, submarines and advanced torpedoes, and antiship and land-attack cruise missiles.”
