USAA has decided to renew its adverting on “Hannity” as a result of “an avalanche” of criticism from members of the military community, AP reports:
“The USAA financial services firm is reinstating its advertising on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Channel program after receiving heavy criticism for its initial decision from many of the military members and veterans that it serves.”
Media Research Center (MRC) President Brent Bozell said he wasn’t surprised by USAA’s decision, “given the avalanche” of protests, AP reports – crediting MRC for “mobilizing” the grassroots campaign that deluged USAA with more than 1,600 angry phone calls within 48 hours.
“They did the right think in going back on that show,” Bozell said, “and so long as the other side isn’t participating in personal smears, they should participate on those shows (on MSNBC and CNN), too.”
“It goes without saying that USAA has not experienced this kind of customer outrage in its entire history,” Bozell declared upon first hearing of USAA’s reversal.
Last Friday, Bozell denounced USAA’s “obnoxious and shameful” duplicity when it claimed it didn’t advertise on “opinion” shows when, in fact, it was continuing to advertise on leftist liberal programs, such as MSNBC’s “Hardball.”
