More than 7 million pounds of hot dogs and sausages were recalled because they may contain bone fragments

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Saturday that a New York-based company has recalled million of hot dog products due to possible contamination.

Marathon Enterprises Inc. is expected to pull roughly 7,196,084 pounds of hot dog products that may have been contaminated with extraneous materials, including bone fragments. The recall apples specifically to the beef and pork hot dog and sausage items produced between March 17 and July 4.

The USDA listed products that may have been affected on its website.

It also confirmed that there was one reported minor oral injury associated with the consumption of this particular product. The federal agency urged consumers to refrain from consuming the products and, either throw them away, or return them the the retailer.
