(CNSNews.com) – President Trump, reacting to the failure of the Republican health care bill in the Senate, tweeted on Tuesday, “As I have always said, let ObamaCare fail and then come together and do a great healthcare plan. Stay tuned!”

In a second tweet, he wrote: “We were let down by all of the Democrats and a few Republicans. Most Republicans were loyal, terrific & worked really hard. We will return!”

Four Republicans — Sens. Mike Lee of Utah, Jerry Moran of Kansas, Rand Paul of Kentucky, and Susan Collins of Maine — said they would vote against the second draft of the Republicans’ Better Care Act, leaving the bill two votes short of passage.

Sen. Mitch McConnell announced Monday night that the effort to repeal and immediately replace “will not be successful.” He said the Senate instead will vote to take up a House bill repealing Obamacare, but with a two-year delay to give Republicans more time to come up with an alternative.

On Monday evening, Trump tweeted, “Republicans should just REPEAL failing ObamaCare now & work on a new Healthcare Plan that will start from a clean slate. Dems will join in!”
