Becoming a United States citizen is a fantastic accomplishment. However, it can just as easily be taken away. Araceli Martinez, a Mexican national, discovered this first hand as the Department of Justice discovered she was impersonating an immigration officer.
As a result, the 53-year-old was ordered to give up her naturalization rights and cannot claim any benefits from being a U.S. citizen.
“This order sends a clear message to individuals who commit fraud during the naturalization process — we will investigate you and seek you out to ensure that justice is done,” the acting ICE director said.
Martinez impersonated a federal officer to help other illegals obtain citizenship, at least that is what they believed. It was actually a scam, as she never submitted any paperwork.
This is absolutely disgusting. Thankfully the DOJ was on it.
