Cops see a lot of strange things. The stories that must happen every day from those on the police force have to be some of the most interesting and “WTF?” conversations ever heard. With that being true, it is safe to assume that none of those stories are quite as different as chasing a man down the road with a coffin on his roof.

That really happened.

KATV is reporting that on  I-30 (some reports say I-530) in Little Rock, Arkansas, at 5:30 pm (no spooky nightfall needed), “police noticed a black Hummer with a casket attached to its roof.”

Reports say that near Scott Hamilton Drive, the creepy vehicle was just parked on the side of the road. When police did a check to ensure that everything was in order, the driver fled, according to the Highway Department.

From there, in what must have been an astounding sight, police were forced to chase the fleeing Hummer even as it tried to get away with a coffin on its top!

The only thing not unusual about this whole twisted episode is the fact that the man was “caught, arrested, and charged with reckless driving, fleeing a vehicle and fictitious tags.

So who was the ghoulish driver? He is 39-year-old Kevin Cholousky and he was taken and booked into the Pulaski County Jail once apprehended.

In one final unsettling twist, “police do not know what Cholousky was doing with a casket – or if anyone was inside it,” according to KATV.

Perhaps this was just a man getting ready for Halloween, but if so, why flee? Did he steal the casket, perhaps from a mortuary or even the ground itself? Maybe he is a grave robber…who knows?

As the details come to light, most likely in court, it will be very interesting to know how this happened and why. Until then, we just have to wonder as we scratch our heads.

Suffice to say, there was one really REALLY interesting story being told at the Pulaski County Jail.
