Fox News concludes probe into sexual harassment accusations against Charles Payne

Fox News said Friday that an investigation into sexual harassment claims made in July against Fox News Business host Charles Payne by former colleague and Trump supporter Scottie Nell Hughes was concluded. Payne, who was suspended during the investigation, will return to the airwaves Monday.

Payne announced that his suspension was being lifted from his official social media account.

“I’m back hosting Making Money w/ Charles Payne tonight on @FoxBusiness helping Americans take control of their financial destiny,” he posted.

Payne admitted having an affair with Hughes that spanned over three years, but denied her accusations that the end of the relationship resulted in her being blackballed from the news network. Both Hughes and Payne are married.

Hughes became a frequent contributor on CNN, and often defended President Trump from his critics.

Fox News media critic Howard Kurtz said that the network was not commenting on the probe into the sexual harassment claims, but concluded that it “appears he’s been cleared.”

“He said relationship with ex-guest was consensual,” Kurtz added.

Fox News appeared to settle another probe into sexual harassment accusations when they “parted ways” Friday with former “The Five” host Eric Bolling, who had been accused of sending pictures of male genitals to former and current female colleagues.

Payne is a Wall Street consultant and focuses on the stock market on his show Making Money with Charles Payne.
