After another primetime shakeup at Fox News, which sent longtime network host Sean Hannity back to the 9 p.m. slot, the ratings are in.

What do the ratings show?

MSNBC anchor Rachael Maddow for months has dominated her cable news competition in the 9 p.m. slot and overall. But the recent primetime shakeup by Fox executives may have been the trigger that ended her reign.

For the first week in his new time slot, Hannity averaged 3.498 million viewers Monday through Thursday. Maddow? Just 2.649 million viewers.

According to TV Newser, Hannity also dominated in the key 25-54 demographic outpacing Maddow by an average of more than 100,000 viewers each night. Hannity averaged 713,000 in the demo, while Maddow averaged just 599,000.

Why the boost?

Some of Hannity’s ratings boost can be attributed to his earlier time slot, which allows more eastern viewers the opportunity to watch his show.

However, Hannity also had a week packed with powerful interview, including Steve Bannon on Monday, Bill O’Reilly on Tuesday, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Wednesday and Rush Limbaugh on Thursday.
