Stop what you are doing, go right now to Twitter and search “Fake Melania.” (You will thank me later.)
The annual ‘Conspiracy Theorist Convention of 2017*’ has convened and this year’s theme is, “Is there a Melania Trump body double?” (*There is no real conspiracy theorist convention. Wink, wink.)
In the 1956 sci-fi classic, ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers,’ Kevin McCarthy’s character believed that his friends and family were being replaced by ‘pod people’– or an emotionless duplicate.
On social media, users believe there is an emotionless duplicate posing as the First Lady.
The smoking gun according to the Twitterverse, is last Friday’s press conference where President Trump was addressing the media about hurricane relief for Puerto Rico.
In the video, the President references his wife and said, (while standing next to his wife) “My wife, Melania, who happens to be right here.”
So why? Why would the President shout out his wife… if she’s standing right there?
Dun. Dun. Dunnnnnn.
That video was all that the Twitter gumshoes and cellphone Nancy Drew’s needed to jump on the case of the ‘Doppelgänger First Lady.’
