‘I am shocked’: Liberal George Takei responds to allegations he sexually assaulted former male model

Just one day after a formal male model waged sexual assault accusations against liberal actor George Takei, the famed “Star Trek” actor unequivocally denied any wrongdoing.

What were the accusations?

Scott Brunton, a former male model, told the Hollywood Reporter in a report published Friday that Takei sexually assaulted him 36 years ago in 1981 during a stay at Takei’s house. Brunton said one night while at Takei’s condo, he awoke and found the Hollywood actor groping him without his consent.

Brunton was 23 at the time and Takei was in hid mid-40s. The two had struck up a friendship through the gay nightlife scene, Brunton explained. After leaving a bar one night, the two ended up at Takei’s place, where, after feeling dizzy, he passed out.

“The next thing I remember I was coming to and he had my pants down around my ankles and he was groping my crotch and trying to get my underwear off and feeling me up at the same time, trying to get his hands down my underwear,” Brunton said.

Brunton alleges he then told Takei he didn’t want him and fled the condo. “I managed to get my pants up and compose myself and I was just shocked. I walked out and went to my car until I felt well enough to drive home, and that was that,” he said.

The two never met up again, except once for coffee years later, Brunton said.

How did Takei respond?

A representative for Takei, Julia Buchwald, initially said Takei was out of the country and would not be able to comment. Takei, however, broke his silence on social media Saturday.

Takei said he was “shocked and bewildered” to learn of the allegations against him, denied the events described by Brunton ever took place and even denied ever knowing Brunton.
