These are the top big U.S. cities with the cheapest rent

Rental rates on the rise across the country.

Some good news: Wisconsin, Texas, Kentucky, and Michigan all take the lead for states that have the biggest cities with the cheapest rents.

A new Consumers Advocate study found rent is on the rise and big cities are often hit the hardest.

In fact, according to the study, the percentage of income has increased to 29.2% in Q2 of 2017, which is up from the 1985-2000 historic rate of 25.8%.

So, if you’re looking to get the most bang for your buck, these are the top 5 biggest cities with the cheapest rent:
1. Detroit, Michigan

2. Tucson, Arizona

3. Louisville, Kentucky

4. El Paso, Texas

5. Milwaukee, Wisconsin
