For weeks, a splinter group of the House intelligence committee has been gathering around Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) to secretly do their own investigation of corruption and conspiracy in the upper ranks of federal law enforcement.”

The core Republican faction of devoted conservatives has been discreetly working behind the scenes to determine just how deeply the Justice Department was violated by Hillary Clinton’s slimy political tentacles. Along with proving that the FBI and DOJ are inherently biased in favor of Hillary Clinton, Republicans are sure to use their findings as evidence that Robert Mueller’s inquisition really is a witch hunt, proving he must be immediately dismissed as special counsel.

“I hate to use the word corrupt, but they’ve become at least so dirty that who’s watching the watchmen? Who’s investigating these people?” Nunes asked recently. “There is no one.”

Four people “familiar with Nunes’ plans” tattled to the media that the inner-circle faction is convinced that the highest ranking officials of the FBI and DOJ have fallen under evil influence, that for years has biased their investigations to help Hillary, and now to thwart Trump.

Nunes and his supporters have lost their patience. While the bipartisan Intelligence Committee has been conducting a public investigation into allegations of Russian interference with the 2016 election, a Republican “committee within the committee” has been doing their own digging to find out why the FBI and Justice Department are so unusually tight-lipped. The DOJ doesn’t want to talk about the methods and physical evidence the FBI investigators relied on to form consequential conclusions.

The center of the controversy is a “dossier describing sometimes salacious allegations of Trump’s ties to the Kremlin” put together by “former British spy Christopher Steele who was commissioned by opposition research firm Fusion GPS.” Nunes and his allies want to know what the Justice Department is trying to hide, by “refusing to share details of the way the Trump dossier was used to launch the FBI’s investigation of his campaign team last year or whether it was the basis for any court-ordered surveillance of Trump associates.”

Nunes had to threaten “contempt of Congress” charges and make a trip to court, with the House counsel lawyer at his side. The judge ordered Rod Rosenstein and Christopher Wray to cough up the funding information which revealed the “discredited” and “disproven” Trump-Russia dossier concocted by Christopher Steele was paid for by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Republicans, both on and off the committee, have serious concerns that everything might eventually trace back to that. Since then, Congress learned that Steele may have been paid directly by the FBI at the same time he was taking Clinton cash. All of this is indicated not just by new things coming out in hearing testimony, Obama officials have already testified in the Russia probe. Loretta Lynch and Sally Yates, who both held the position of Attorney General, along with Samantha Power, our former UN ambassador have all been on the stand and contributed noteworthy tidbits.

Inside sources are already convinced Russian intelligence spooks were playing games with Steele. When he approached them sniffing around for dirt on Trump, they made a game of feeding him more and more outlandish lies, just to see what he would believe. Steele didn’t have to believe any of it, he got paid just to write it down and bring it home. If these wild stories were the basis for getting wiretap warrants then something is seriously wrong with our system of justice. It might even add up to a “coup attempt.”

His “secret” report got passed around liberal Washington for months before eventually leaking to the media, which forced then-FBI Director James Comey to sit down with Trump and tell him it was out there, just before he was sworn in as President. Nunes already announced he will be issuing subpoenas to senior FBI agents in connection with the file.

Recently, even more evidence surfaced of bias favoring Hillary, in the form of disclosures that the vast majority of Mueller’s team are Democrat donors. Mueller team members Peter Strzok and Lisa Page just got busted for emails they exchanged praising Hillary and discussing what they would do in the unthinkable event Trump was elected. Strzok was the one directly responsible for downgrading the criminal charge pending against Hillary for “gross negligence” down to harmless “carelessness.”

The group expects to release a report as soon as they get back after the holidays. In the interest of swamp-draining transparency, the group is expected to ask Congress to declassify relevant items, in order to be able to show them to the general public.
