President Trump has responded to North Korean President Kim Jong Un’s New Year’s Eve message in which he declared “the entire mainland of the US is within the range of (North Korea’s) nuclear weapons.”
Jong Un was quoted as saying, “the nuclear button is always on the desk of my office. They should accurately be aware that this is not a threat but a reality.”
“No mater how much America wants to attack us with their military might and nuclear power, they know that now we possess such great nuclear power and therefore they will not dare,” North Korea’s leader stated.
Trump replied saying, “will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a nuclear button, but it is a much bigger and more powerful one than his, and my Button works!”
The United States’ ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, also issued a warning during a speech on Tuesday declaring the United States would never accept a nuclear North Korea.
“As we hear reports that North Korea might be preparing for another missile test — I hope that does not happen, but if it does — we must bring even more measures to bear on the North Korea regime,” Haley stated.
Last November, Trump referred to Jong Un as “short and fat” in a tweet after the North Korean president called Trump “old.” Earlier that month, Trump warned North Korea against attacks towards the United States during a speech in South Korea.
“Do not underestimate us, and do not try us. We will defend our common security, our shared prosperity, and our sacred liberty,” Trump said.
