Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach said, “What’s happening is a tactical shift where the mission of the commission is being handed off to Homeland Security without the stonewalling by Democrats.” The Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity is being dissolved. The commission’s objective was to uncover voter fraud but investigations the commission has launched have been obstructed by Democrats.
Kobach was disheartened by Democrats saying, “They have absolutely no interest in stopping voter fraud…It’s truly extraordinary that one party in our system has made clear that they don’t care.” It is widely understood that Democrats are the primary beneficiaries of voter fraud and this provides them with an incentive to leave the matter unaddressed. Illegal aliens who are voting in our elections are not voting for Republicans like President Trump.
The Democrat’s obstruction seems to have cost them their role in investigating voter fraud. Kobach said, “The investigation will continue, and it will continue more efficiently and more effectively…by throwing their food in the air, they just lost their seat at the table.” Democrats often used litigation to stall or hamper investigations into voter fraud. The commission was weakened by these tactics and less than one in 100 cases of voter fraud ended in a conviction.
Democrats are now worried because the investigation into voter fraud has been transferred to the Department of Homeland Security. A Democrat that was a member of the now-defunct commission, Mathew Dunlap of Maine said, “Homeland security operates very much in the dark…Any chance of having this investigation done in a public forum is now lost, and people should be, frankly, frightened by that.”
President Trump frustrated with the commission and lack of outside cooperation said, “Despite substantial evidence of voter fraud, many states have refused to provide the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity with basic information relevant to its inquiry.” Trump recognized the constant obstruction by Democrats and continued, “Rather than engage in endless legal battles at taxpayer expense, today I signed an executive order to dissolve the commission, and have asked the Department of Homeland Security to review these issues and determine next course of action.”
Democrats do not believe that proof of citizenship should be required for people to vote in our federal elections. Democrats also vehemently oppose requiring voters to provide identification at the polls. The opposition to these measures is veiled as an effort to enfranchize minority and poor voters, this is merely an excuse, their motivation is maintaining the large number votes they receive from those who are not legally allowed to vote in federal elections.
The 938 convictions of voter fraud since 2000 are only a small fraction of a percent of the voter fraud that occurs. The Public Interest Legal Foundation looked into a small sample of voters in Virginia from eight counties. They found over 1,000 registered voters who were not citizens of this country, and 200 of them were able to vote before being purged from the rolls.
The Democratic Governor of Virginia Terry McAuliffe has undermined six pieces of legislation in 2017 aimed at targeting voter fraud. These bills would have made it much harder for illegals to vote in their state by tracking people registered in more than one state, requiring identification for absentee ballots, and implementing a number of other measures to ensure the elections maintained integrity. Democrats do not want to lose their illegal voting base and will go to great lengths to protect it.
Democrats will no longer be able to use the same tricks they have employed previously to deter voter fraud investigations. Homeland Security will be able to more effectively battle the epidemic without being tied up in frivolous litigation brought on by ridiculous lawsuits filed by Democrats and their affiliate organizations.
President Trump has had many of his efforts thwarted by uncooperative Democrats in office. Kobach said, “Some people on the left were getting uncomfortable about how much we were finding out.”
The Department of Homeland Security has more resources available and greater latitude to launch this investigation into uncharted territory. Kobach plans to continue digging into the issue no matter how uncomfortable it gets for Democrats, “I’ll be working closely with the White House and DHS to ensure the investigations continue.”
