Senator Rand Paul will be meeting with President Donald Trump on Monday afternoon to request that disgraced former CIA Director John Brennan have his security clearance revoked.
Brennan has been working in the media and bashing Trump for airtime, even accusing the president of treason following the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a series of unhinged tweets.
On Sunday, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte announced that his committee will call Brennan to testify about his role in the Russia scandal.
“We have lots of questions for John Brennan and he will definitely be sought by the committees for an interview,” Goodlatte, R-Va., told Maria Bartiromo during an interview on “Sunday Morning Futures.” “This is an extremely disturbing thing to see both he and [former FBI Director] James Comey, supposedly impartial government officials carrying out their jobs in very important areas in intelligence gathering and law enforcement, express the kind of extreme bias that they’ve shown now — which I think reflects quite accurately what they were doing back in 2016.”
Earlier this month, Senator Paul blasted John Brennan on Twitter, also demanding that he testify before Congress about what information he received from British intelligence sources about President Trump or his campaign.
“BIG question for John Brennan, who has become such a vocal spokesman. Did you receive any secret info on candidate Trump or his campaign from European or British intelligence sources? Brennan should be brought before Congress & made to testify under oath, NOW!” Senator Paul tweeted.
“What did John Brennan know and when did he know it? We deserve answers. Of course, last time he testified in Congress he perjured himself, but it’s certainly worth dragging him in here and trying,” Doug Stafford, Chief Strategist for Rand Paul, told The Gateway Pundit at the time
