‘Do you think NBC would’ve done that if this had been a Democratic male nominee?’
(Kaylee McGhee, Liberty Headlines) Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said NBC News is complicit in the attempt to bring down Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
“They’ve been a co-conspirator in the destruction of Kavanaugh, from my point of view,” Graham said on Fox News’s “Hannity.”
NBC reported last week that the Senate Judiciary Committee had asked Kavanaugh about a fourth assault accusation, introduced by Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.).
Graham said a Democratic senator leaked that information to NBC, and NBC ran with it instead of accurately portraying the facts.
“Do you think NBC would’ve done that if this had been a Democratic male nominee?” Graham said. “All I can say is that there the journalistic integrity has been destroyed, regarding this case.”
Graham said the leftist media is trying to push a certain narrative that is dishonest.
“I think you’re trying to portray him as a stumbling, bumbling drunk, gang rapist, who during high school and college was Bill Cosby,” Graham told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.
President Donald Trump has also defended Kavanaugh.
“The trauma for a man that’s never had any accusation — he’s never had a bad statement about him,” Trump said on Monday. “It’s unfair to him at this point. What his wife is going thorugh, what his beautiful children are going through is not describable.”
On NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend, actor Matt Damon portrayed Kavanaugh as a beer-guzzling frat boy. Kate McKinnon then reenacted Graham’s scathing denouncement of Senate Democrats during Kavanaugh’s hearing last week.
“I know I’m a single white male from South Carolina and I’m told I should shut up, but I will not shut up, if that’s okay,” Graham said during the hearing. “This has been the most unethical sham since I’ve been in politics.”
