The Israeli Air Force has hit roughly 150 terrorist positions across the Gaza Strip, following a wave of rocket strikes that claimed the life of one man after it targeted a residential building in Ashkelon.
The Hamas targets hit included “a terror tunnel in Darj; four compounds used by terror groups in Gaza City, Khan Yunis, Beit Hanoun, and Jabalia; and a position used to launch rockets from Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip into southern Israel.”
The Air Force also struck two Islamic Jihad compounds in Khan Yunis, and compounds used by the terror group in Deir al-Balah and Tel al-Hawa. Likewise, jets bombed the Al-Amal Hotel, “which had been used by Hamas as its interior security headquarters for the past four years.”
According to the IDF, the airstrikes are ongoing.
“As of now, the IDF has struck approximately 150 military targets belonging to Hamas and the PIJ [Palestinian Islamic Jihad] terror organizations, including three governmental structures that were used for military purposes. At this time, the IDF’s strikes are still ongoing,” the spokesperson said.
Gaza Strip terrorists began the conflict this morning by launching approximately 400 rockets and mortars into Israel after a special forces raid went awry.
Reports assert about 100 projectiles were taken down by Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system.
One person was killed and another injured when a rocket fired by terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip slammed into a residential building in the coastal city of Ashkelon. Several others have been injured.
According to the Times of Israel, large numbers of IDF troops and tanks are now heading to the border with Gaza.
Rabbi Pinchas Winston has warned that incident could begin a biblical war.
Rabbi Winston believes that the latest escalation could spark the War of Gog and Magog, an “end of days” conflict which preludes the Messianic Redemption.
“The First World War was set off by the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. The 2014 War in Gaza was set off by the murder of three young boys. The same is true for the War of Gog and Magog but even more so,” said Winston, adding that the battle “could be more horrifying than anything we could ever imagine” and “unlike anything that came before.”
Winston referred to 18th century writings of Rabbi Elijah ben Solomon Zalman, who said the war would last 12 minutes and encompass the globe.
“That was inconceivable at the time but now we can envision that as being realistic,” Rabbi Winston said. “There are many aspects described in prophecy that skeptics say are impossible. It is all part of the bigger plan.”
Many people around the world are praying.
