Funeral fires up ferocious female feud…
A Twitter feud ensued between female MSNBC anchors and Fox News host Laura Ingraham after she noted how some were using the death of former President George H.W. Bush to snipe at current President Donald Trump.
“What’s been lost is reverence”
Ingraham took the first swipe at Wallace for a comment criticizing Trump for debasing the presidency as the funeral procession for Bush was heading to the U.S. capitol.
“Under Donald Trump the office of the presidency has been debased in ways that are unimaginable to those who have served every past president,” Ingraham quoted Wallace as saying. “What’s been lost is reverence.”
Ingraham added a hashtag with the word “irony,” which some took as criticizing Wallace for not revering Trump’s presidency enough.
Wallace fired right back.
Her MSNBC colleague and co-host of “Morning Joe,” Mika Brzezinski also responded to Ingraham’s critique.
“If describing reality is sniping then ok,” Brzezinski tweeted, “but I’m not sure where you think this is going except REALLY badly. @NicolleDWallace is right on.. you are as usual serving as the president’s panderer.”
“I’m not sure that ends well but hey good luck!” she concluded.
