Pray for the law enforcement officers and their families

At least five police officers have been shot while serving an arrest warrant in southeast Houston.

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo tweeted a confirmation from his official social media account.

“We have had several officers shot please pray for officers on the way to the scene now more information to follow,” he tweeted.

The officers were rushed to the hospital, and their conditions have not been released to the public yet. The Houston Chronicle reported that one officer had been shot in the face.

Police may be searching for a third suspect in the attack.

Gov. Greg Abbott released a statement asking for prayers for the officers.

“This evening’s horrific attack on police officers is a solemn reminder of the service and sacrifice our brave men and women in law enforcement make every day to keep us safe,” said Abbott in the statement. “I ask all Texans to join Cecilia and me in praying for the officers injured, and for the continued safety of all law enforcement officers who protect our communities.”
