Documentary filmmaker and Democrat Socialist Michael Moore is one of President Trump’s loudest celebrity critics.
However, that doesn’t translate to success at the box office. Moore knows that first hand, considering his anti-Trump film “Fahrenheit 11/9” floundered in theaters.
Now, Moore gets even mo(o)re bad news.
His left-leaning TV series has been axed.
From Daily Wire:
Michael Moore can add “television” to his list of Trump-era failures; Turner broadcasting networks axed the filmmaker’s “docuseries” “Michael Moore Live From the Apocalypse” this week, according to Deadline magazine.
The show — a “refreshing” take on politics from Moore and his production company — was supposed to air on TBS, but despite announcing the series in 2017, Moore reportedly never followed through with filming any episodes. Instead, Moore moved on to a one-man Broadway show, which closed after only a short run, and a long-form documentary called “Farenheit 11/9,” which bombed at theaters.
Deadline reports that the show “was to be ‘a raucous gathering place for millions of our fellow citizens in desperate need of a break from the screaming pundits and the purveyors of ‘alternative facts.’” Moore himself added that he planned on taking on “DC politics, Wall Street and the 1%,” as writer, director, and star of the series.
In a recent interview, Moore made it clear that amending the Constitution would be a good idea so Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could run for president before the age of 35.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has to wait 6 years to run for president, but Michael Moore wants to amend the Constitution so she can run next year.
Moore says Trump will win in 2020, not that he wants it to happen.
From Free Beacon:
Liberal activist and filmmaker Michael Moore on Wednesday said President Donald Trump is a “tumor” on the political system but predicted he will hold onto the White House in 2020 if Democrats don’t run a “beloved American” or non-politician.
Moore appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” to discuss the midterm election results from Tuesday night and how they will affect the 2020 election. He said Trump is a “tumor on our democracy” but noted Democratic victories caused the “tumor” to shrink last night.
Ocasio-Cortez has advocated for cities to stop recognizing “Columbus Day.” Sandusky, Ohio took notice.
Now, it’s gone.
From The Hill:
Officials in the city of Sandusky, Ohio, have decided that the city will no longer observe Columbus Day as a holiday, switching it for Election Day.
A number of cities have stopped observing Columbus Day or begun marking “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” instead, citing Christopher Columbus and other European explorers’ treatment of Native Americans.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has advocated for making the change nationally. And a November survey from Hill.TV and HarrisX polling company found that a majority of respondents favor making Election Day a federal holiday.
