When it rains, it pours. For Elizabeth Warren, that is.
It all started when the senator starting doing what senators do best; criticizing others in order to gain the upper hand. Often times this kind of tactic is successful in the world of politics, but only when the criticizer has at least some level of credibility.
So an uninformed voter might think that Warren was doing well for herself when she went on MSNBC to criticize the perpetrators of the current college admissions scandal.
As reported by CNBC:
Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren told MSNBC that she has “zero” sympathy for the dozens of parents charged in what the Justice Department says is the biggest college admissions scandal it’s ever prosecuted.
A number of wealthy parents were charged Tuesday in a $25 million scam that helped their children gain admission to top schools in the U.S., according to the DOJ. The list of those charged included high-level executives and two notable actresses.
Parents involved in the scam allegedly funneled cash into a “charitable account.” The man who pleaded guilty to four charges in the scam, William Singer, helped the alter students’ SAT and ACT tests and helped parents bribe athletic coaches and universities to take their kids, even if they didn’t play sports, prosecutors said.
Yale University, Georgetown University, Stanford University, the University of Southern California and Wake Forest University were among the institutions that accepted children whose parents are accused in the scam.
The media has been buzzing about the college admission scandal, and Sen. Warren desperately needs some attention if she has any chance at getting the 2020 presidential nomination. So she certainly must have thought that her “zero” tolerance towards cheaters was a valid move, and quite timely.
There’s just one problem, though. The fact is that Warren herself is a cheater. A faker. A do-whatever-I-have-to kind of trickster, especially when it comes to colleges.
As reported by the Daily Caller:
Warren allegedly indicated that she was a Native American in her official documents while she was a law professor at Harvard University, although a September report revealed that the University said they didn’t consider her status in their hiring decision.
In a continuation of the scandal, It was revealed that Warren did, in fact, indicate she was a Native American in her registration to the Texas Bar — a poor judgment call she quickly apologized for.
“I can’t go back,” Warren said in an interview with the Washington Post. “But I am sorry for furthering confusion on tribal sovereignty and tribal citizenship and harm that resulted.”
So what on earth was she thinking, mocking the parents who cheated the system to get their kids ahead, when she herself cheated the system to get herself ahead?
But how did we even come to the knowledge that she is not, in fact, a Native American? It was all because of Trump! He brought wide media attention to his doubts of her Native American heritage when he dubbed her “Pocahontas.”
Although he was criticized by the media, his constant teasing inspired her to take a DNA test for the whole world to see.
Unfortunately for her, it showed that she has as much Native American blood in her veins as a Terrier.
The world responded with a slew of clever memes and hilarious parodies similar to the one below:
So again, what was she thinking? Why would she bring attention to this embarrassment all over again?
