NBA legend Charles Barkley may not be a full-on conservative, but he’s certainly not a hardcore liberal, either.
When he sees stupid, he calls it out.
Even though the “Round Mound of Rebound” is busy commentating on March Madness, he made time to let “jackasses” in the media know that enough is enough.
From Free Beacon:
Basketball Hall of Famer and CBS commentator Charles Barkley went Beast Mode on sports journalists who wet their pants about Michigan State coach Tom Izzo yelling at one of his players. During Thursday’s game against 15-seed Bradley University, Izzo elucidated the importance of hustling back on defense to freshman guard Aaron Henry, employing a direct form of communication to educate his inexperienced pupil about what it takes to win in the NCAA tournament. Barkley used his unparalleled authority on basketball culture to calmly explain to the “jackasses” in the media that actions such as this are precisely why Izzo succeeds.
Barkley noted, “I was so disappointed to hear all these jackasses on other networks complaining about a coach actually coaching his team. It’s all right for a coach to yell at a player. When did we get to the point where every time a coach yells at a player it becomes a national emergency?”
Chuck is right. Coaches should be able to do their thing and shape young men the best way they see fit.
The problem for liberals is that they live in FantasyLand, where everything is hunky-dory and nobody ever yells at anybody.
That’s not how life works.
The fact that Dems can still convince a large percentage of Americans that they are working in their best interests is mind-boggling.
Now, a Dem lawmaker was heard using the n-word to describe a majority black district.
From Federalist Papers:
A Democrat State representative is hearing increasing calls for her resignation after she was caught using the N Word.
Maryland State Del. Mary Ann Lisanti called a Prince George’s County legislative district as a “n—– district,” The Washington Post reported.
Lisanti issued a statement vowing to not resign, like Virginia blackface Gov. Northam, but did apologize.
Lisanti has been censured.
From Washington Examiner:
Democratic leaders in the state House have called for Lisanti to step down. House Speaker Michael Busch, a Democrat, said she should “face the consequences” of what she said. “There is no place in the House of Delegates for any racial slurs, or slurs of any kind in society in general.”
Lisanti said in a statement: “I deeply apologize to the citizens of my district, people of Maryland, all of my colleagues in the Maryland General Assembly and everyone reading this for my word choice several weeks ago. I am sickened that a word that is not in my vocabulary came out of my mouth. It does not represent my belief system, my life’s work or what is in my heart.”
