Fox News’ Tucker Carlson slammed socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Monday after she participated in an MSNBC town hall last week that was designed to promote her and her far-left ideology.
Carlson also took aim at MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, who hosted the town hall, saying Hayes “is what every man would be if feminists ever achieved absolute power in this country: apologetic, bespectacled, and deeply, deeply concerned about global warming and the patriarchal systems that cause it.”
“[The town hall] apparently seemed like a wise idea to executives at MSNBC,” Carlson said. “The very same news outlet that spent two years lying to you about Russia brings you a 29-year-old former bartender to teach you about science.”
Carlson moved on to criticizing Ocasio-Cortez, who made multiple false statements at the town hall without any pushback, including false claims about U.S. history and science.
“Listen to her explain how she doesn’t resort to ad hominem attacks unlike her enemies who, by the way, are xenophobic white supremacists,” Carlson said before playing the clip from the town hall. “So it’s official, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a moron, and nasty, and more self-righteous than any televangelist who ever preached a sermon on cable access. She’s not impressive, she’s awful.”
The MSNBC town hall came after Ocasio-Cortez’s poll numbers have collapsed in recent weeks and her $93 trillion Green New Deal failed to garner a single vote of support in the Senate.
An analysis from the American Action Forum earlier this year found that Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal “would likely have a more lasting and damaging impact than its enormous price tag.”
The Daily Wire reported in February that the damaging report came “after Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats told lawmakers earlier this month that the $20 trillion-plus in existing U.S. national debt represents the greatest threat to U.S. national security.”
During the town hall, Ocasio-Cortez doubled down on her belief that cow farts were posing a serious risk to the planet, saying: “We need to innovate and change our, our grain, uh, our, our cow grain from which you know they feed in these troughs. We need to look at regenerative agriculture. These are our solutions.”
Ocasio-Cortez also continued to repeat the false claim that there are only 12 years left to deal with climate change before civilization is doomed.
“We have an expiration date and the IPCC report says we’ve got 12 years to turn it around!” Ocasio-Cortez claimed. “12 years! My concern is we are going to be the frog in the pot of boiling water…and our kids are doomed.”
Ocasio-Cortez’s claim has been refuted by numerous top climate scientists including Kate Marvel, who works at NASA.
“12 years isn’t a deadline, and climate change isn’t a cliff we fall off — it’s a slope we slide down,” Marvel said. “We don’t have 12 years to prevent climate change — we have no time. It’s already here. And even under a business-as-usual scenario, the world isn’t going to end in exactly twelve years.”
Andrea Dutton, a paleoclimate researcher at the University of Florida, said regarding the IPCC report that Ocasio-Cortez constantly references: “For some reason the media latched onto the 12 years (2030), presumably because they thought that it helped to get across the message of how quickly we are approaching this and hence how urgently we need action. Unfortunately, this has led to a complete mischaracterization of what the report said.”
