According to Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D), “some people did something” on September 11, 2001.
She fails to mention who those people were, what they believed in, AND that nearly 3,000 were killed because of those people.
From Daily Caller:
Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar described the September 11, 2001, terror attacks on the United States in a nonspecific way during a recent speech to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)
Omar delivered the keynote speech at a fundraiser for CAIR in late March and urged Muslim Americans to “raise hell” and “make people uncomfortable.” In one part of her speech that surfaced on Twitter this week, Omar described the 9/11 attacks in a peculiar way.
Omar noted, “CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”
Fellow freshman Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) came to Omar’s defense by mocking GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw, an American hero.
From Daily Wire:
Ocasio-Cortez defended Omar by making multiple false claims and by mocking Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), who called out Omar for trivializing the 9/11 terror attacks.
The 29-year-old former bartender attacked Crenshaw, a decorated war hero, by suggesting that he was not fighting for the families of 9/11 victims and saying that he should “go do something” about terrorism.
As a Navy SEAL, Crenshaw lost his eye fighting terrorists in Afghanistan and earned 2 Bronze Stars (one with Valor), the Purple Heart, the Navy Commendation Medal with Valor, and other awards.
Here’s Crenshaw’s tweet about Omar:
First Member of Congress to ever describe terrorists who killed thousands of Americans on 9/11 as “some people who did something”.
Here’s AOC’s shameful response:
You refuse to cosponsor the 9/11 Victim’s Compensation Fund, yet have the audacity to drum resentment towards Ilhan w/completely out-of-context quotes.
In 2018, right-wing extremists were behind almost ALL US domestic terrorist killings. Why don’t you go do something about that?
Here’s why AOC’s comment is so ridiculous, outside of the obvious reasons…
This is pretty deceptive.
The bill has *not* even been voted on in the House.
A person does *not* have to cosponsor a bill to vote in support of it.
In other words, both Omar and Ocasio-Cortez continue to prove on a daily basis that neither deserves to be in Congress.
AOC is more concerned about creating a socialist America than the plight of people in the Bronx and Queens.
She’s thrown all her weight behind the far-left “Green New Deal” in an attempt to raise taxes on the American people. Now, some from her district are getting fed-up.
From New York Post:
Amid her zeal to save the world with the Green New Deal, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has ignored residents in her own Bronx back yard.
“I thought AOC would be our savior, but that’s not the case,” complained Roxanne Delgado, a local activist who said she has tried for months to get in touch with the congresswoman for help saving an animal shelter and to clean up parks in the district.
Delgado, 40, says she has made numerous calls to Ocasio-Cortez’s offices in Washington and Queens and sent a barrage of tweets after the freshman lawmaker encouraged residents during a recent visit to a Bronx public library to hit her up on social media.
But she’s heard nothing back.
“NO email or contact on @AOC’s page except DC number which has full #voicemail and no one picks up,” Delgado tweeted on Monday.
The Post made several calls to both the Washington and Queens offices last week. The same recording at both numbers gives Ocasio-Cortez’s Web site and doesn’t allow a caller to leave a message.
