A Florida campaign event for Democrat presidential candidate Cory Booker was briefly interrupted when a car crashed into the building where the event was being held.

The crash was unrelated to the event, according to the Miami Gardens Police Department.

After the scene was cleared and it was determined that there was no threat, Booker continued his speech. The driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and has been taken into custody.

“I have been a former mayor. We have dealt with a lot crises. The key is to remain calm and see what you can do to help other people,” Booker told Local 10 after the incident.

“Unfortunately, we have traffic accidents often, and my prayers are with the two people. … It seems like they are going to be OK,” Booker said.
