ISIS recently released a video purportedly showing its leader still alive. The footage surfaced Monday, showing Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in an undisclosed location.

Analysts said the terrorist spoke about the battle in Syria being over, and said the Sri Lanka bombings were in retaliation for ISIS being defeated in Baghouz.

The comments indicate the video may have been recorded in recent months.

This comes after years of claims he has been either killed or injured in fighting. Baghdadi last appeared in public in 2014 in Mosul, and is believed to be hiding near the Syria-Iraq border.

The terror group has lost nearly all of the territory it once controlled in Iraq and Syria.
