Pete Buttigieg, the openly gay 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, has been big on bringing up his “devout Christian faith.” Talking with NBC News, Buttigieg said if God belonged to a political party, “I can’t imagine it would be the one that sent the current president into the White House.” Not only is this a slap to every Trump voter, but it is also a slap to every American Christian, and he got an epic smackdown. Don’t miss this.

Pete Buttigieg is the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and he is also trying to make a name for himself on the national stage. The 37-year-old Democrat enjoyed a brief stint as the man who the mainstream media gushed over for a few days until Joe Biden entered the presidential race.

Now, he has faded to the back of the pack, and that’s why he is trying to shock Americans by making outlandish claims on Christianity. His first target was Vice-President Mike Pence. Of course, Pence was once the governor of Indiana, and so he and Buttigieg knew each other. However, Buttigieg tried to create a fake controversy with Pence and President Trump, and it backfired big time.

He’s questioned Trump’s belief in God and called him the “diametric opposite” of a devout Christian. Buttigieg claims he is a very devout Episcopalian Christian. Since 2015, the United States Episcopal Church ruled for sanctioning gay marriage. Many Christian faiths do not sanction gay marriage including the biggest: the Catholic Church. And how can someone claim to be a devout Christian and belong to the party of death?

“It’s something that really frustrates me because the hypocrisy is unbelievable,” Buttigieg said last month about President Trump. On Pence, Buttigieg has said, “How could he allow himself to become the cheerleader of the porn-star presidency? Is it that he stopped believing in Scripture when he started believing in Donald Trump?”

Pence responded to the criticism last month, arguing that Buttigieg was attacking him for political gain and that the mayor “knows better” than to say “things that are critical of my Christian faith and about me personally.”

“One of the great things about this country is our freedom of religion and the freedom of conscience, and we’ll continue to cherish our values, cherish our views,” Pence said. And now that Buttigieg’s attacks on Trump and Pence failed to gain him any traction in the polls, the mayor is going straight for 63 million Americans, many who are Christians and voted for President Donald Trump.

And it’s really rich Buttigieg thinks God would be supporting his platform which is for late-term abortions, and he believes gay people should “have a right” to be married in the eyes of God. Meaning, the government should enact laws forcing religions to have to marry gays.

Tuesday on NBC’s Today, Mayor Pete Buttigieg said he “can’t imagine” that God would be in the political party that elected President Donald Trump.

Reporter Craig Melvin said, “You also spend a fair amount of time talking about your faith.”

Buttigieg said, “Yes.”

Melvin asked, “Why?”

Buttigieg said, “It’s important to me. I think it’s also important that we stop seeing religion used as a kind of cudgel as if God belonged to a political party. If he [God] did, I can’t imagine it would be the one that sent the current president into the White House.”

Well, Americans who value their Christian faith didn’t appreciate “Mayor Pete’s” take on God’s political preference.

“Have you begun to understand it yet. Christianity is under attack as well as Judaism. They are the bad guys! What present minority faith has the support of the left? Answer: Islam of course,” tweeted John Slawinski.

“Shows he doesn’t know anything about the true God,” tweeted “Marie.”

“God DID step in to save our country!! He knew Trump was the only one who could beat crooked, immoral Hillary. And because of Trump our Supreme Court is conservative and will become even more conservative from here on! And prayer in back in The White House!!” tweeted “Christy.”

The Democratic Party of 2018 is diametrically opposed to Christianity. That’s just a fact. And it’s true every person’s faith is deeply personal, however, some things you just can’t get around.

Pete Buttigieg is selling so-called liberal Christians a bill of goods that don’t add up. Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, did say to “render to Caeser what is Caeser’s,” however, that does not mean we check our Christian faith at the polling place.

Abortion is a grave sin, it is murder, and if you vote for the party of death, the Democrats, you are voting to sanction abortions in America. There’s just no other way to look at it no matter how suave and charismatic people say Pete Buttigieg is at explaining his “devout Christian faith.”
