The Obama regime’s surveillance of President Trump and his associates may be an outrage but the sad fact is that the former president routinely spied on just about everybody.

As a petty thin-skinned narcissist, Obama had no qualms about using the NSA as if was his own personal STASI and in addition to snooping on domestic political adversaries, he also ordered the surveillance of America’s allies.

Given Dear Leader’s well-established animosity toward Israel, it should come as no great surprise that he ordered the surveillance of the Jewish state’s military and an attack on Iran. With the controversial Iran nuclear deal being seen as a key to Obama’s legacy it is par for the course that he would run interference for the Islamic republic even at the cost of undermining the special relationship.

This ugly revelation comes courtesy of the New York Times Magazine and is buried deep inside an extensive story on Israel’s desire to eliminate a threat to its existence that doubles as a hit piece on Trump.

Obama took the possibility of a sudden Israeli strike seriously. American spy satellites watched Israeli drones take off from bases in Azerbaijan and fly south over the Iranian border — taking extensive pictures of Iran’s nuclear sites and probing whether Iranian air defenses spotted the intrusion. American military leaders made guesses about whether the Israelis might choose a time of the month when the light was higher or lower, or a time of the year when sandstorms occur more or less regularly. Military planners ran war games to forecast how Tehran might respond to an Israeli strike and how America should respond in return: Would Iran assume that any attack had been blessed by the United States and hit American military forces in the Middle East? The results were dismal: The Israeli strikes dealt only minor setbacks to Iran’s nuclear program, and the United States was enmeshed in yet another war in the Middle East.

It isn’t the only time that the Emir Of Obamastan conducted surveillance against the nation’s most critical ally in the volatile Middle East.

In a story that has long been forgotten, back in 2015, the Wall Street Journal published a bombshell report that Obama had dialed up spying operations against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that the surveillance had also caught up numerous members of the U.S. Congress.

President Barack Obama announced two years ago he would curtail eavesdropping on friendly heads of state after the world learned the reach of long-secret U.S. surveillance programs.

But behind the scenes, the White House decided to keep certain allies under close watch, current and former U.S. officials said. Topping the list was Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The U.S., pursuing a nuclear arms agreement with Iran at the time, captured communications between Mr. Netanyahu and his aides that inflamed mistrust between the two countries and planted a political minefield at home when Mr. Netanyahu later took his campaign against the deal to Capitol Hill.

The National Security Agency’s targeting of Israeli leaders and officials also swept up the contents of some of their private conversations with U.S. lawmakers and American-Jewish groups. That raised fears—an “Oh-s— moment,” one senior U.S. official said—that the executive branch would be accused of spying on Congress.

White House officials believed the intercepted information could be valuable to counter Mr. Netanyahu’s campaign. They also recognized that asking for it was politically risky. So, wary of a paper trail stemming from a request, the White House let the NSA decide what to share and what to withhold, officials said. “We didn’t say, ‘Do it,’ ” a senior U.S. official said. “We didn’t say, ‘Don’t do it.’ ”

Also long forgotten and buried by the media were the devastating revelations of former NSA contractor turned whistleblower Edward Snowden who stunned the world with his leak of damning evidence that the intelligence agency has been engaged in widespread mass surveillance of American citizens.

Obama denied it but Snowden’s internal documents told a far different story and that story is that a rogue administration had mobilized the most powerful surveillance apparatus in the history of the planet for purely political reasons.

Will Obama and his accomplices ever be held accountable? Considering that he is now living large and buying waterfront palaces in places like Martha’s Vineyard it isn’t looking good.
