“He wants to be able to bring up witnesses like Adam Schiff, like the whistleblower, like Hunter Biden, like Joe Biden.”

The White House announced Thursday that President Trump is relishing the idea of impeachment hearings reaching the Senate so he can call witnesses including House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ‘whistleblower’, and Hunter and Joe Biden.
White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley made the revelations in an interview with Fox News.
“I spoke to the president about this tonight. … The president did nothing wrong. He wants that plain and clearly explained to the American people. But, he also feels there’s no basis to move forward at all in the House. But if they do, he wants a trial in the Senate.” Gidley stated.
“He wants to be able to bring up witnesses like Adam Schiff, like the whistleblower, like Hunter Biden, like Joe Biden. And he says, if the House moves forward with this sham, and they continue to push these fake, illegitimate proceedings onto the American people, then he wants it to go to the Senate, and he wants a trial.” Gidley reconfirmed.
Gidley followed up with an official statement which declared that “President Trump wants to have a trial in the Senate because it’s clearly the only chamber where he can expect fairness and receive due process under the Constitution,”
“We would expect to finally hear from witnesses who actually witnessed, and possibly participated in corruption – like Adam Schiff, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and the so-called Whistleblower, to name a few,” the statement continued.
Trump would surely relish the chance to watch the ‘human scum’ Schiff squirm:
I’m finding quite a bit incorrect with this article and the manner in which the President and his supporters are going about this defense.
First, hearings related to impeachment are not run like a trial. They are the indictment phase, so to speak. Only the “prosecution” is allowed to present evidence to determine whether “charges” or the impeachment will be brought to go to trial. This is nothing new and I believe it to be a waste of time arguing over this process from the President’s supporters. It’s simple enough to look back at the Clinton impeachment hearings and see that they were done in the same manner, with congressional Republicans in the majority.
Second, let’s pretend that the President really did want an investigation to move forward regarding the Bidens. Why didn’t he request our FBI conduct an investigation? They perform investigations overseas all the time. He has appointed new people to run the agency and he wouldn’t be facing an impeachment hearing over his breaking of the law. One can certainly argue that he should not be impeached but it is a bending of the truth to say what he requested was not outside of the law. It’s easily readable and there for anyone that wants to view it.
Even his Chief of Staff admitted to the wrongdoing…even though he tried to walk that back…it doesn’t negate that it was admitted.
