Elon Musk has reached out to the Russian government to see if he could have a chat with Vladimir Putin, which has led to intrigue and speculation since this proposal came ten days after the Fraudulent Biden administration canceled a test flight for one of his SpaceX rockets.
Last Saturday afternoon Musk tweeted at the Kremlin’s official Twitter account asking if Putin would like to join him for a conversation on Clubhouse, a new voice-based social media app. Musk followed up that tweet with another, saying in Russian that “it would be a great honor to speak with you.”
It is unclear whether Musk knows some Russian or if he just used Google Translate. Musk has previously said that in addition to fluent English and Afrikaans, he can also speak “functional” Dutch, French, and German.
In any event, the Kremlin finds Musk’s proposal “very interesting,” according to spokesman Dmitry Peskov, but that it needs further consideration.
“We want to make sense of it first. Putin himself does not use social networks, he doesn’t have any personal accounts,” Peskov said. “We need to understand somehow what he means, what the offer is about, we need to verify this first, and then we will respond.”
It has not gone unnoticed that Musk offered to speak with Putin a few days after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) canceled a test flight of a Starship rocket built by Musk’s SpaceX. The Trump administration had previously allowed SpaceX to conduct test flights, though it appears that Biden is not as keen on space exploration as his predecessor.
This conversation would be a fascinating listen if it takes place. Stay tuned…
