Donald Trump Jr has provoked a torrent of criticism for selling T-shirts mocking the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins after being accidentally shot by Alec Baldwin on set last week.

The T-shirts, which are emblazoned with the words ‘guns don’t kill people, Alec Baldwin kills people’, are being sold on Trump Jr’s website for $27.99.

It comes after Baldwin, 63, who has long been an outspoken advocate for gun control in the US, killed the cinematographer when he discharged a prop gun on the set of his new movie ‘Rust’.

Trump Jr released the shirts via an Instagram story yesterday, telling his followers to ‘get yours now’ before posting a photoshopped image of Baldwin wearing the t-shirt.

New York tabloid The Daily News labeled Trump Jr the ‘SPAWN OF HATIN’ in response

to the stunt, as critics bashed the move as ‘deplorable’ and accused him of doing ‘anything to make a buck.’

The release of the provocative t-shirts set social media ablaze as thousands of angry users railed against Trump Jr for his ‘miserable’ and ‘disgusting’ stunt.

Some took direct aim at Trump Jr, tagging the former President’s son as ‘scum’ and ‘repugnant,’ while others encouraged the Hutchins family to sue him for trying to profit off Halyna’s demise.

Fred Guttenberg, the father of 14-year-old daughter Jaime Guttenberg who was murdered in the Parkland school shooting in February 2018, tweeted, ‘I know how her family feels’ and called Trump Jr ‘the scum of the earth’ from a ‘miserable family’.

Another user tweeted he hoped to see the Hutchins family ‘sue Donald Trump Jr for every penny he’s worth’ for his ‘utterly deplorable’ stunt.

Trump Jr. has hit back at the media’s reaction to Hutchins death and the widespread sympathy for Baldwin following the fatal shooting.

As a staunch supporter of the 2nd amendment and the ‘right to bear arms,’ Trump Jr accused the media of ‘protecting Baldwin from criticism because they agree with his politics’ and claimed that Baldwin would’ve ripped any other actor had they been in his position instead.

He also alleged that the media would’ve been on Baldwin’s side if ‘the shoe were on the other foot’.

Baldwin described the killing as a ‘tragic accident’ following the shooting in a Twitter post last week and has not spoken with the media since.

‘There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation,’ Baldwin wrote.

‘My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.’

The fatal shooting of Halyna is being treated as an accident, and no charges against Baldwin have been filed. The sheriff’s spokesman Juan Rios said Baldwin was permitted to travel. ‘He’s a free man,’ Rios declared.
