Earlier this week, rumors were swirling about Newsom’s absence from the public eye after receiving a Moderna booster shot on October 26.

Newsom, who loves the camera almost more than any modern politician, made a public spectacle of his COVID booster shot, then immediately went into hiding for two weeks.

Two days later, his office issued a statement citing unspecified family obligations, canceling his plans to attend the global climate conference, a huge gathering of international leaders on a subject that is among his highest priorities.

The statement claimed that Newsom would attend the summit virtually, though he still has not made a video appearance.

Three days after his disappearance, Gov Newsom’s office issued a statement citing “family obligations” as the reason for canceling his scheduled appearances, including his planned meetings at the global COP 26 climate conference in Glasgow, Scotland.

Conservative personality Dave Rubin shared a tweet with a link to a Daily Mail article that claims sources close to the Newsom family’s inner circle confirmed that he “had an adverse reaction to getting the Covid booster and a flu shot within days of each other, leaving him with muscle weakness and fatigue.”

Daniel Lopez, the governor’s press secretary, said Newsom had “no adverse reaction to his booster shot” and confirmed the governor “will have public events this week related to the economy and vaccines.”

The defensive and unconvincing Democrat governor of California was asked about his two-week absence during a press conference yesterday afternoon. In addition to his quirky body movements, Newsom appeared defensive and agitated.

“Sir, this is the first time we’ve seen you since October 27 answering questions, and I know you missed us,” a reporter said to California Governor Gavin Newsom during his first press conference since the governor received his COVID booster shot.

“What day is it? I’m just trying to get a—? It’s been a week,” Newsom falsely claimed as he laughed. Newsom’s response appeared to be a challenge to the reporter over his misrepresentation about how much time has elapsed since the governor was seen in public.

For the record, it’s been exactly two weeks since the governor was last seen on October 27.

The reporter explained that a lot of parents could “totally relate” to wanting to spend time with their family for Halloween, asking, “Do you think that or do you wish that, that you would have said that first—more explicitly?”

Newsom snapped back, “That I, that I, wanted to spend time with my family? And Alex, forgive me for cutting you off—I put out a statement saying I wanted to spend time with my family—so we actually put that out.”

“Well, it said family obligations…

‘Well. I don’t know if it’s an obligation to spend time with my kids, but my wife, who’s been spending a lot of time, a disproportionate amount of time with the challenge of having a spouse battling a recalls, crisis to crisis…” Newsom explained as he nervously appeared before the press.

If the demands of Governor Newsom’s job are too much for him and for his wife, perhaps he shouldn’t have fought so hard against California citizens who wanted to recall him over his authoritarian actions related to the CCP virus. It’s worth noting, Newsom never missed a day of work to be with his family when he was shutting down beaches and destroying small businesses in his state, using COVID as an excuse.

The satire site Babylon Bee mocked the California Governor’s MIA status following his two-week hiatus from his job as the state’s CEO, following his booster shot.

Twitter users, who responded to Newsom’s defensive speech, are not buying his excuse about missing important, high-profile events to spend time with his family, with no advance warning.  Here are just a few of the comments:

“Halloween is one night, not 2 weeks…I call BS”

“He did not cancel going to the world climate meeting just to stay home with his kids on Halloween. This is malarkey, a cover-up.”

“If Newsom had a serious reaction to the vaccines, he needs to be upfront about it, especially when he’s forcing the vaccines on people.”

“The booster shot kicked his ass!”

“Halloween was nearly two weeks ago… where was Newsom since then?”

“he’s obviously lying. I wonder what really happened (and yes, I understand the booster injury may not be true).”
