Liberals beginning to admit that two-year coverup of Hunter’s “Laptop from Hell” story only discredited corporate media in the long run.

HBO host Bill Maher chastised the mainstream media over its two-year dismissal of the Hunter Biden laptop story, noting it’s a prime example of why people “don’t trust the media.”

Maher said that the New York Post “got ahold of what was in the computer” and published it before the 2020 election because it’s a “Republican paper”, but that it shouldn’t have taken two years for the New York Times and others to confirm its authenticity.

“And The New York Times and The Washington Post are the Democrat papers. That’s where we are again, kind of. And the Republican paper — Twitter wouldn’t — canceled their account,” Maher said on his Friday show “Real Time.”

“You can’t even report on this story, and now, two years later, The New York Times and The Washington Post have come around to say, okay, there was something there.”

Though Maher defended the media’s initial dismissal of the Hunter story because it was covered by conservative operatives like Steve Bannon and Rudy Giuliani, he said it should have been widely reported on sooner.

“Now, what I said at the beginning, how it came to them? It came to them through Rudy Giuliani and Steve Bannon,” Maher said. “So, yes, of course, when Rudy Giuliani says, I’ve got some evidence, you take that with a giant thing of salt.”

“But not two years. It didn’t take two years. It looks like the left-wing media just buried the story because it wasn’t part of their narrative and that’s why people don’t trust the media,” he lamented.

This comes as the mainstream media is now beginning to admit that the Justice Department’s investigation into Hunter’s corrupt dealings is ramping up.

The White House is even facing pressure from the media to answer for Hunter’s activities, but White House communications director wouldn’t elaborate, and did not rule out the possibility that Joe Biden may pardon his son if he’s indicted.
