State health officials and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued an urgent health warning due to a rapidly spreading E. coli outbreak.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that a rapid-spreading E. coli outbreak is allegedly responsible for at least 37 cases of illness in the states of Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.

The number of confirmed cases increased to 97 in just two weeks, as the outbreak quickly moved to two additional states, New York and Kentucky.

Of the 97 reported cases, 43 people have been hospitalized and 10 have developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a serious complication that can lead to kidney failure, Fox News reported.

There have been no reported deaths linked to the outbreak, according to CDC.
