His left-hand reaches around and grabs my ass cheek, and one of his fingers touches me in the taint. And he starts moving it around,’ Fraser said recalling the 2003 incident.

Hollywood actor Brendan Fraser says he won’t attend next year’s Golden Globes, still upset after one of its Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) organizers sexually assaulted him nearly 20 years ago.

Asked during a recent GQ interview whether he would attend the Globes if he receives an outstanding performance nomination for his role in the upcoming film The Whale, Fraser, 53, confirmed he “will not participate.”

“I have more history with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association than I have respect for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association,” Fraser told GQ.

The HFPA, made up of journalists and press organizations dedicated to covering entertainment news, is the main organizer of the Globes.

Fraser, who’s staging a comeback after a years-long hiatus due to the assault, at the height of the #MeToo movement, renewed allegations against Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Philip Berk, who he claimed made unsolicited sexual advances toward him when they first met at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Speaking to GQ in 2018, Fraser recalled the 2003 incident, saying, “His left-hand reaches around, grabs my ass cheek, and one of his fingers touches me in the taint. And he starts moving it around.”

“I felt ill. I felt like a little kid,” he added. “I felt like there was a ball in my throat. I thought I was going to cry.”

The Irish Independent at the time reported: “Berk discussed the incident in his 2014 memoir, claiming he pinched Fraser’s behind in jest, according to reports.”

Responding to Fraser’s comments, the HFPA said it would investigate the allegations, however, it did not remove Berk as president.

His time came last year in April when he was unceremoniously canned by the group after sending an email to HFPA members describing the Black Lives Matter movement as a “racist hate group” and BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors of being a “self-proclaimed ‘trained Marxist.’”

Fellow actor Terry Crews also came forward at the height of #MeToo revealing he was also sexually molested by a high-level Hollywood exec in public, though he did not dare name his molester.

“This whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD,” Crews wrote in a series of tweets in 2017. “Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME.”
