A 16-year-old Algerian migrant has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing at an asylum center in France that left another young migrant seriously wounded, according to reports.
The incident unfolded last Wednesday at the Coallia home for foreign ‘unaccompanied minors’ in Beauvais, a city in the Oise department.

An altercation broke out at around 8 a.m. between two teens staying at the facility.
The suspect reportedly pulled a knife from his jacket and stabbed the victim twice in the head.
When an adult worker tried to intervene, the suspect allegedly punched him.
The wounded teen was rushed to hospital where he remained for days.
“Arrived in France in December of 2019 without a residence permit, the young man of Algerian nationality has no criminal record,” Le Parisien reports.
“But according to a person close to the investigation, he is a teenager who is ‘regularly on the run’ and known for ‘violent and impulsive’ within the home.”
The suspect faced a magistrate and was incarcerated in the juvenile section of Liancourt prison while awaiting further legal proceedings.
In Macron’s government they will probably make him a bureaucrat.
