Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) may be in big trouble very soon, and it all has to do with potentially illegal campaign cash contributions.

Here’s what is known…

From Federalist Papers:

Yesterday, it was reported by multiple media outlets that AOC helped funnel $6,000 to her boyfriend during her campaign.

Today, we’ve learned those contributions were likely illegal.

And if not downright criminal, at the very least highly unethical.

AOC’s boyfriend has a government email address. Her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, said that Riley Roberts was not a member of AOC’s staff.

From Daily Mail:

Her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti also argued the move was normal for a spouse or partner.

He wrote: ‘He’s not paid. We have no volunteers in the office. He’s not doing any government work. He can see her calendar just like spouses/partners/family members in other congressional office.

There’s a big problem, though, as Roberts is actually listed in Alexandria’s staff directory.

This might be a “major ethics violation,” according to Turning Point USA‘s Charlie Kirk:

Chakrabarti was apparently given his position after funneling cash for Alexandria’s campaign through Roberts, AOC’s boyfriend.

That’s kind of a problem. In fact, it might be illegal.

If it’s not outright illegal, it definitely poses a major ethical dilemma.

“A rich guy used a PAC to pay @AOC’s boyfriend $6,000 when her campaign was running out of money. After AOC won, she gave that rich guy a job in her office. Follow me on a journey,” author Luke Thompson said.
