Former NFL Quarterback Brett Favre weighed in on the debate over transgender individuals competing in athletic competitions during an appearance on the Jason Whitlock show Tuesday.
Favre, a Super Bowl champion, made the comments as the debate over transgender-identified biological males competing in female sports competitions rages on. Several males have made national headlines for taking top honors from female athletes.

“To think that a young man who identifies as a girl, I don’t understand, but just hear me out, can go into a girl’s bathroom and use the restroom with girls and for us to think that’s ok, I think is wrong. That’s just a small example,” Favre said.
“I just think some things we’re allowing in this country are beyond belief.”
“I’m shocked that so many athletes can’t muster the courage just to say it’s not just going to the bathroom which is clearly bad enough, but if you’re a top-flight male athlete, you know damn well as a man you have no business competing against women in sports,” Whitlock said.
“I think maybe the vast majority are afraid of what it will do to their career. And it’s not affecting them directly, not yet at least. Who knows where this country’s going, maybe it will. It may affect them somewhere down the road. And then, is too late? I don’t know.”
Favre called for a boycott of Fox News after Tucker Carlson left the company in May.
“I’m with Tucker. Time to boycott Fox until they come to their senses and let the man speak,” Favre wrote on Twitter.
