Did they just lose their final shred of credibility? … ‘

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Looking for another chance to flex its authoritarian muscle, as the public stubbornly moves on with life after COVID, the Biden administration’s Medical Tyranny Board on Monday upgraded the monkeypox alert to level 2, with 3 being the most drastic, advising travelers to wear masks and practice so-called enhanced precautions.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention upgraded its travel and mask advisory in conjunction with the release of an updated count of confirmed monkeypox cases in the United States, reported the Daily Mail.
“Wear a mask,” the CDC advised. “Wearing a mask can help protect you from many diseases, including monkeypox.”
The case count that spurred the CDC into issuing its masking guidance, historically a prelude to mask mandates, reached 31, spread across 13 states.
Ironically, the CDC quietly scrubbed its initial masking guidance, swapping it out for more innocuous and generalized language, while retaining the level 2 alert, according to the Daily Caller.
The stealth-edited advisory included generic guidance like avoiding close contact with sick people, washing hands and avoiding animals while traveling.
The re-write could likely be explained by the wave of criticism and mockery the CDC’s original monkeypox masking guidance received.
While there have been plenty of “jump the shark” moments for the CDC, saying that wearing a mask protects you from monkeypox, a virus that primarily spreads through close physical contact and fomites without evidence is surely one of the biggest ones yet https://t.co/0HRbVC6KzR— Eric (@The_OtherET) June 6, 2022
“The CDC has just raised the Monkeypox alert level to Level 2,” wrote Newsmax contributor Dr. David Samadi.
“They’re now also recommending the use of masks to slow the spread… yes, masks.
“No, I am not kidding about the masks.”
The CDC saying to wear masks to slow the spread of Monkeypox is like them telling people to wear a mask to slow the spread of HIV.— Ryan Gerritsen🇨🇦 (@ryangerritsen) June 7, 2022
