Fighting like cats and dogs.
I’m a bit of a movie buff, so allow me to begin with a classic scene from a classic comedy:
I have seen Clinton corruption that will turn Democrats Republican!”
In this scene, Bill Murray delivers one of the most famous comedic lines of all times: “Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats living together–mass hysteria!” The humor, of course, is that “dogs and cats living together” is not anywhere near on par with the other disasters the Ghostbusters are foretelling.
Then again, maybe it would be.
Just imagine if tomorrow every child were perfectly polite but sluggish, every senior citizen was zipping around and shouting like toddlers, police were hanging out with criminals during bank heists and murders, and, yes, cats and dogs were mingling like packs of mice on the street.
It’s a subtle difference from the world we all know, and yet it would signal something is very “off,” wouldn’t it?
Well, that feeling of “offness” has been in the air all throughout this election season, but for me the most striking has been the slow but steady role-reversal that Russia has undergone in the past few years. The Cold War is over, and liberals have always loved to mock anti-Communism as the paranoid “McCarthyism” of conservatives. (Never mind that McCarthy was by and large correct!) In the past few years, however, it is the Left that has taken up the torch of anti-Russian paranoia.
Consider, first of all, how Julian Assange went from a hero among liberals ten years ago to being an enemy of the state in the eyes of Obama, Hillary Clinton, et al. (including much of the Republican wing of the Democratic party). Why did he fall from grace? Because, ten years ago, Assange was exposing secrets about the Bush regime, but now he’s giving equal air to the Democrats’ heaps of dirty laundry. As always, for liberals, truth is only valuable when it works to their benefit. While Hillary Clinton is obsessed with painting Assange and Trump as “Russian pawns,” it wasn’t that long ago that Assange was leaking Russian secrets as well.
It’s like seeing dogs and cats fighting ten years ago, but living together now–mass hysteria.
Edward Snowden has suffered a similar but less dramatic role-reversal. When he first fled the country with state secrets, the right and the left had equally mixed feelings about him. Liberals were happy to see the U.S. government with egg on its face, but conservatives were generally inclined to see Snowden as a traitor, an enemy of the state. As his leaks continued, however, and as he never expressed any desire for a ransom or any kind of damage to American citizens, conservatives began warming to him for exposing how Big Brother–the NSA, FBI, and all the rest of the Federal Alphabet Soup–was unconstitutionally spying on and profiling Americans.
Although he is not in the limelight as much as Assange is these days, Snowden shares one thing in common with Assange: both have seen their fates tied up with Russia. There is as little evidence–zero–that Assange or Snowden are Russian spies (in fact, it’s only because the U.S. government revoked his passport that he was unable to pass through Russia to his final destination, probably in South America), yet the Democratic regime has chosen to demonize all three together just because it feels itself collapsing under the weight of the truth exposed by Snowden’s and Assange’s whistleblowing efforts.
Once again, it’s like dogs and cats living together: Russia is now seen as the ally of whistleblowers, while America is playing the part of the international assassin and censor.
Just look at an even more recent cat-kisses-dog story involving Russia and the corrupt heart of the Democratic regime, the Clinton Crime Family.
An extraordinary Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin [on October 24] says President Putin was “officially presented” with a Main Directorate for Migration Affairs (GUVM) “file for review” relating to a request for “urgent and immediate” political asylum requested by an American citizen named Eric Braverman—the former CEO of the Clinton Foundation, and is known as the man who can expose “The Real Hillary Clinton Scandal”. …
In other words, the former CEO of the Clinton Foundation is on the run and sees Russia as a safe place to escape the wrath of the Clintons. Cat kisses dog.
[On October 23,] Eric Braverman arrived at the Consulate of Russia in New York City and presented his “urgent and immediate” request for asylum on a visa application…..
The Foreign Intelligence Service (FSI) … admits that his wanting the protection of the Federation was “directly related” to the sudden death of Wikileaks founder Gavin MacFadyen that occurred the previous day, 22 October.
Eric Braverman … became the CEO of the Clinton Foundation [in 2013] until his abrupt, and unexplained, leaving [the money laundering criminal organization known as the Clinton Foundation] in December 2015.
By March 2015 Podesta was suspicious that Braverman was was a whistleblower.
Eric Braverman was made the CEO of the Clinton Foundation in 2013, this report explains, after Hillary Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea, “declared war” on this criminal enterprise after details emerged showing her father, former President Bill Clinton, had raised over $1 billion though the foundation to rebuild 100 villages in India, but only spent $53 million with him and his wife, Hillary Clinton, pocketing the rest.
Fearing this massive scandal would derail her mother’s chances of winning the US presidency, this report continues, Chelsea Clinton battled to clean up the Clinton Foundation—and forced upon it the new CEO Eric Braverman.
By December, 2015, this report notes, Clinton Foundation CEO Braverman’s efforts to “establish normalcy” within this criminal enterprise completely failed leading to what many believe was his ouster as his contract ran to 2017….
Interestingly, the FSI report speculates that Braverman may not actually want asylum as his actions seem more like a person seeking to “protect themselves by publicity” as he did not request anonymity from Russia. This has led to turmoil in the Kremlin, with some officials saying that granting him asylum would create just another American accusation that Russia is trying to control the outcome of the US election while at the same time Hillary Clinton is using anti-Russia red-baiting at a level not seen since days of McCarthyism.
