We are writing to make you aware of news that was brought to the attention of district officials late Saturday, April 23, 2022.
A video posted Saturday evening on YouTube shows John Gray, Goshen Local Schools board president, being handcuffed by law enforcement in Indiana.
The content of the video is deeply disturbing to our entire school district and Goshen Local School community.
John Gray resigned from the school board Sunday, April 24, 2022.
He was serving his fifth term.
To be clear, Saturday’s incident occurred outside of the Goshen Local School district.
Our district leaders will be consulting with legal counsel and should more information become available, we will communicate it to our families immediately.
Due to the fact that this is an ongoing investigation, we have no other comments at this time.”
“I said you have beautiful lips.
She said something about trying clothes on, modeling, like a fashion show.”
Gray agreed that he did speak with the minor about a bubble bath and giving her a massage.

The groups responsible for exposing Gray’s behavior, PCI: Predator Catchers Indianapolis and PCI: Predator Catchers Muncie posted the video online for justice.
PCI: Predator Catchers Indianapolis state on their website,
“We all know it’s a problem but I had no idea just how bad it was.
We dedicate our time, working hard to expose as many predators as we can.
The justice system needs a wake up call.
If they won’t protect our children, groups like us WILL!”
PCI: Predator Catchers Muncie say on their website,
“We take complete pride in what we do and each and every single one of us are beyond passionate in our nonprofit.
Most of our team members are mothers and fathers of young children in our community.
They are survivors of child solicitation themselves!
We are out here for the greater good.
We see this issue for what it is and will do everything in our power to spread its awareness.
To seek justice for those in our community who may not have seen their day in court or weren’t strong enough at the time to fight for it.
It’s a fight that never ends and until then PCM will keep swinging…”
The sheriff’s office in Randolph County Indiana said they were called to the Dollar General in Farmland and proceeded to engage in a conversation with Gray.
He was not arrested and is currently not facing criminal charges.
According to the sheriff’s department, an investigation is underway.

During an undercover operation in October 2021, detectives first encountered Hammond. Using fake profiles uploaded to dating apps, police began a conversation with Hammond. He believed he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl.
Again, several months later, Hammond communicated with another detective from Redmond, whom he believed was a 13-year-old minor. After a few months of communication that was sexually motivated, Hammond suggested a face-to-face meeting with the minor to have sex.
Hammond was arrested while checking in at a local hotel.
According to Redmond Police, Hammond is being charged with four counts of communication with a minor for immoral purposes and third- and second-degree attempted rape of a child.
He is being held on $100,000 bail.
