Disney To Be Stripped Of Special Power If This Passes
(UnitedVoice.com) – Disney has been under fire from Republicans over the last several months after CEO Bob Chapek spoke out against Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law. The Sunshine State responded by dissolving the company’s special tax district. Now, Chapek’s remarks have caused a US senator to re-evaluate special business considerations granted to Disney and other companies in the past.
Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) introduced the Copyright Clause Restoration Act to strip “woke corporations like Disney” of retaining ownership of their creative material. Specifically, the legislation would limit copyrights on materials to 56 years. If passed, the law would apply retroactively, meaning Disney would immediately lose some of its protections. Current law allows companies to maintain complete control over their material for 120 years from the date of creation.
Hawley said his bill would strip Disney of “some of its oldest and most valuable copyrights” upon passage.
There’s no reason @disney or any other woke corporation should keep getting special favors from government. End the handouts now

Republicans have long been the party that protects businesses. The GOP has traditionally believed these corporations are the drivers of the American dream, giving the people in this country hope they might one day be as successful as the entrepreneurs that made America great. Hawley, however, believes those days are over. He said it’s time to make a change, and that’s what his bill would do.
