Sheriff Clarke called on people to remain calm while arguiing that the public should be allowed to socialize in large groups.

Clarke made his remarks via twitter on Sunday as cities across the United States were placed on lockdown to tackle the spread of the coronavirus.

The Sun reports: Many cities, including New York, are shutting down businesses in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus.

“It is now evident that this is an orchestrated attempt to destroy CAPITALISM,” Clarke tweeted.

“First sports, then schools and finally commercial businesses.

“Time to RISE UP and push back.”

Clarke added that the US should “let people decide if they want to go out.”

“GO INTO THE STREETS FOLKS,” he wrote in a separate tweet.

“Visit bars, restaurants, shopping malls, CHURCHES and demand that your schools re-open. NOW!

“If government doesn’t stop this foolishness … STAY IN THE STREETS
