Students in their late teens stormed a building at Cite Scolaire Emile Zola during recess and targeted a 19-year-old male in what authorities believe was a ‘settling of scores,’ France Info reports.

The suspects, aged 18 and 19, were reportedly carrying large blades in their backpacks.

“I saw everything,” a female student told La Voix Du Nord. “I was jostled with my backpack, then there was this knife planted in the leg of a young person and full of blood everywhere.”

A 16-year-old male named Ishem told the paper, “It was crazy. It felt like we were in a movie.”

“I’ve been at Zola for six years and there you can feel that the violence is rising. It’s sad for us and for the reputation of our school.”

The victim was taken to hospital and treated for ‘superficial wounds’ to his legs.

The suspects were arrested and all classes were suspended until at least Thursday.
