Primaries are not that far away….
In a time of record inflation, and particularly bad business inflation printing off even more money is more than unwise—it could potentially be catastrophic…
Yet that is what 14 Republicans chose to do by helping Democrats to fast track an increase to our debt ceiling.
The inclusion of Mitch McConnell on this list shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone reading this, but 13 other Republicans chose to join him.

The chamber could vote on the bill itself, which sets the fast-track rules to raise the debt limit, as early as Friday.
If that bill passes, both chambers of Congress would need to vote next week on a second bill actually raising the debt limit.
President Joe Biden is expected to sign both bills into law once they pass.

House/Senate looking at a very complicated plan to raise the debt ceiling. Would be attached to Medicare bill. But would allow for only a one-time increase in the debt ceiling with a simple majority threshold and some GOPers would vote for cloture to overcome a filibuster.

Despite winning all levers of federal power in the last election and using them to add trillions to the debt, Democrats have refused to take responsibility for their actions and increase the debt limit without Republican help.
Under the scheme the House passed Tuesday, Senate Republicans may choose to provide Democrats a way to shirk their responsibility — and a blank check to do more damage.
