Pop star and outspoken Christian Justin Bieber shared on Instagram Wednesday afternoon that he was diagnosed with Lyme disease.
On Wednesday morning, celebrity news tabloid TMZ published an article claiming that sources confirmed that Bieber’s upcoming YouTube docuseries shows the 25-year-old opening up about his battle with Lyme disease.
Later that afternoon, Bieber confirmed the diagnoses on social media. Next to a screen capture of TMZ’s article, Bieber wrote, “While a lot of people kept saying Justin Bieber looks like s**t, on meth etc. they failed to realize I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my, skin, brain function, energy, and overall health.”
The “Sorry” singer continued noting that his upcoming docuseries on YouTube will indeed further explain his journey with battling the disease. He wrote, “You can learn all that I’ve been battling and OVERCOMING!! It’s been a rough couple [of] years, but [I’m] getting the right treatment that will help treat this so far incurable disease and I will be back and better than ever NO CAP.”
